How to identify that a tree is dead and what do you do with a dead tree?

Sometimes a tree dies and people don’t realize it until it falls and endangers the people around it. The problem is that not everyone can identify whether a tree is dead or not. Understanding that a tree is dead is not as easy as one might think because often a tree still “looks wet” but the inner structure of the trunk is dry and decaying. Note that some trees die slowly and die from the inside out. Okay, how do you identify whether a tree is dead or not?

Here are the key points:

– You can scratch one of the branches of the tree and look “inside”. If it is orange or brownish in color, then you can be sure that the tree is dead. If it is green, the tree is most likely still alive.

– In spring observe if there are buds growing. Tree buds are a strong indication that a tree is alive.

– The flexibility of tree branches is another strong indication. If you find that the branches of a tree tend to be stiff and break easily, then you can be sure that it is dead.

– Do you find some kind of sawdust and ants in the soil around the tree? If yes then the tree is in the process of decaying.

Here are some common reasons why a tree may die:

– Of course, age is hard to fight. Everything that lives will die one day.

– Perhaps the tree has undergone what could be considered extreme pruning. For example, cutting the main trunk or many branches obviously disrupts the flow of nutrients in the tree. Large wounds in the tree can also attract insects and they can later cause death indirectly with harmful fungi from other trees being accidentally carried away (by them).

– Drought and obviously this is the main cause of premature death of many trees around the world. Global climate change is contributing to extreme drought in many parts of the world.

Okay, now we know a tree is dead. What do we do with the tree after it dies? You have to remove the useless stump and restore the soil. Let the surface recover so that you can plant something new in your garden.

To do this, in most cases, you cannot do it alone. You are advised to contact an experienced tree care service. Only an experienced tree care service uses the latest technology and the most advanced equipment to perform tree stump removal. Keep in mind that if the stump removal is not done properly, then the soil can be damaged for future use that we want to provide, therefore we recommend that you be careful in the process if you want to do it yourself. However, you should contact the professionals when you notice a large dead tree in your area. You almost certainly can’t handle it yourself.
